On the back of my last post confirming Ozzy Osbourne as the Sunday Headliner for the Download Festival in 2018 the last two main stage headliners have been confirmed.

And those two headliners would be Avenged Sevenfold ( a few days ago granted ) and today it was confirmed Guns ‘n’ Roses will be headlining the festival. It’s safe to say with today’s announcement the headliners for the festival won’t disappoint many fans and they are some of the biggest bands old & more recent. I’m not a big fan of Avenged Sevenfold but I do like some of their songs. I’ve seen them live before when they supported Iron Maiden and admit they put on a great show. The band have grown in stature over the years and the last time they played Download Festival by all reports they put on a great show, so for fans or non-fans of the band it could be good to check them out on the Friday night. Guns ‘n’ Roses, well what’s to say? When I was first getting into Rock/Metal they along with Iron Maiden/Metallica were the bands I started with. Over the years they’ve produced some seminal albums, caused a fair bit of controversy and over recent years split fans/peoples opinions of them. One of their concerts that got the band noticed in the UK was their appearance at the 1988 Monsters of Rock show. Most fans/people know the bands history but on their recent reunion tour all reports have been positive, so if they can continue and bring this to Saturday night at Download it should be a great set to witness.

Will the headliners be enough to convince me and many to go the Download Festival next year? I must admit I’m tempted but after the last few Downloads I attended there were other reasons for me not going. This said for reasons mentioned in this post if all the headliners bring their A game’s ( and rest of the lineup is any good ) then this could be one of the biggest UK festivals next year.
